Commences Monday 11th September 2023
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South-West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential central reserve filter drain replacement as well as CCTV drainage surveys on the A82 between Stoneymollan and Barloan from Monday 11th September until Saturday 23rd September 2023.
This scheme will benefit around 4,500 vehicles using this route each day, by improving drainage, protecting the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work will be carried out using overnight closures and signed diversions will be in operation. We thank road users for their patience and co-operation while this essential work takes place.
There will be five overnight closures between 8pm Monday 11th September and 6am Saturday 16th September 2023. Traffic management details are as follows:
- Complete closure of the southbound carriageway of the A82 between Stoneymollan and Lomondgate.
- Diversion 1: Traffic will be diverted to the A811 and continue to the roundabout at the A813 junction. Traffic will then take the third exit on to the A813 and follow Carrochan Road, Main Street and Stirling Road to Lomondgate Roundabout.
- Complete closure on the A82 southbound on-slip from Renton.
- Diversion 2a: Traffic will be directed to continue along Renton Road A812 to the B857 via Main Street, Bank Street, North Main Street and Luss Road to the roundabout at A811 Lomond Road. Traffic will then take the third exit on to the A811 to follow Diversion 1.
- Diversion 2b: Traffic will continue along Renton Road and turn left on to Glasgow Road and continue to the roundabout at the Church Street junction. Traffic will then take the fifth exit and head back along Glasgow Road, turn right on to Renton Road, and follow Diversion 2A.
- Progressive offside lane closures on the A82 northbound between Lomondgate and Stoneymollan.
There will be five overnight closures between 8pm Monday 18th September and 6am Saturday 23rd September 2023. Traffic management details are as follows:
- Complete closure of the A82 northbound between Lomondgate and Stoneymollan.
- Diversion 1: Traffic will be directed to exit Lomondgate roundabout to the A813, then turning left on to the A811 and continuing on to Stoneymollan roundabout.
- Complete closure of the A82 northbound off-slip to Renton.
- Diversion 2: Traffic will be directed to exit Lomondgate roundabout to the A813, then turning left on to the A811 and continuing on to Stoneymollan roundabout. Traffic should then take the first exit on to the A82 southbound and continue to the Renton southbound off-slip.
- Offside lane closures on the A82 northbound between Barloan and Lomondgate.
- Progressive offside lane closures on the A82 southbound between Stoneymollan and Barloan.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
