West Dunbartonshire Council recognises that Gaelic is an integral part of Scotland’s heritage, national identity and cultural life.  The Council is committed to the objectives set out in the National Gaelic Language Plan and has put in place the necessary structures and initiatives to ensure that Gaelic has a sustainable future in West Dunbartonshire and beyond.  

West Dunbartonshire Council recognises Gaelic to be equal to English and WDC’s Gaelic Language Plan 2020-2025 sets out the future pathway for Gaelic throughout the authority.
