Looked After child is a child in the care of the local authorities.  

This can mean looked after at home, where a child continues to live in their regular home, often the family home.  It also means those children looked after away from home.  

The Looked After Children Health Team provide additional health input for children and young people accommodated away from home.

This includes health assessement plans and reviews and health promotion.
