West Dunbartonshire Council has secured a new fund from Scottish Government to support those aged over 25 years old experiencing Long Term Unemployment (defined as 12 months out of work) who face the greatest inequalities and are furthest from the labour market with barriers to employment.

This LTU scheme is part of the ‘No One Left Behind’ initiative to boost employment opportunities and enhance skill levels for people in Scotland. This fund supports those aged over 25 years old experiencing Long Term Unemployment to develop employability skills and provide valuable work experience, which will support and enable them to remain in sustainable employment.

West Dunbartonshire Council is the lead accountable body and will oversee the delivery of this programme with a range of third sector and public sector employers. Through this funding opportunity, employers in the third sector and public sector will identify intermediate opportunities and provide access to skills and training, particularly in sectors where there are currently skills shortages such as health and social care, construction and in new emerging sectors such as green jobs.

West Dunbartonshire Council will accept expressions of interest from third sector and public sector employers. This Expression of Interest Form is to open a dialogue between the employer and West Dunbartonshire Council.
