West Dunbartonshire Leisure facilities will reopen to the public from September 14, following updated guidance from the Scottish Government.
The reopening will be on a phased basis, with selected dry activities available immediately, and swimming pools available from September 16.
This decision has been taken to ensure a safe environment can be provided for staff and customers, and work will continue to ensure appropriate measures are in place ahead of reopening.
Further information and guidance on booking arrangements, programme timetables, facility access arrangements and details of new Covid-19 measures will be published on the WDLT website in the coming days and customers are encouraged to check this regularly for updates.
John Anderson, General Manager of West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust, said: “We welcome the government’s announcement that gyms and leisure centres may open from the end of the month and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back.
“We were preparing to reopen on 14 September - the original date set out in the Scottish Government route map - and have decided to continue progressing with this date so that when we open our doors we are providing the safest environment possible for our staff and customers.”
“This will give us the required time to fully prepare all facilities, ensure we have adequate staffing levels who are properly trained in the new Covid measures, and ensure that booking systems and programmes are available for customers.
“We recognise that customers will be eager to get back into our facilities and though we are just as eager to welcome them back, our priority remains on doing so safely.
“I’d like to thank our customers for their support and goodwill during the period of closure and for their continued understanding as we prepare for opening as quickly and as safely as we can.”
