Could you give some time to support people affected by cancer?

We are currently recruiting for Macmillan Cancer Information & Support Volunteers.

Macmillan @ West Dunbartonshire Libraries is developing a volunteer led cancer information and support service based in the hub of the community. Weekly Macmillan Cancer Information and Support drop-in services are currently available in Alexandria, Clydebank, Dumbarton and Balloch Libraries.

Alexandria Drop in centreWe are looking to recruit male and female volunteers to help support people affected by cancer (must be over 18 years of age).

We ask volunteers to give 2 to 3 hours of their time each week to enable anyone affected by cancer to access emotional support, benefits and welfare rights advice, counselling and complementary therapies. Without volunteers, our services would not exist.

Full training and ongoing support are provided, as well as out of pocket expenses.

What our volunteers say

By donating a couple of hours of their time each week, volunteers are ensuring that people affected by cancer get the support they need in their local community.
