Bridging Payment

A Bridging Payment (£160 per child) will be paid to all eligible families on Friday 10 December 2021. For this payment to be made on the above date you must have previously qualified for free school meals via our benefit section or submit an application which is processed and approved by the 6th December 2021 at the latest.

If you are already in receipt of Free School Meals via our Benefits section then bridging payment will be made to you automatically and there is no need to contact us as we already have all relevant details to process a payment for Friday 10th December.

Free School Meal Payment

A Free School Meal Payment of £25 per child will be made on Tuesday 21 December. This payment covers lunches up to 5 January 2022. To receive a payment, you must have previously qualified for free school meals or you must submit a new applications which is processed and approved by no later than Monday, 20 December 2021.

If you are already in receipt of Free School Meals via our Benefits section then bridging payment will be made to you automatically and there is no need to contact us as we already have all relevant details to process a payment for Monday, 20 December 2021 .

If you are NOT in receipt of free school meals, but your circumstances have changed, you can check the criteria and apply on the free school meals and clothing grants page.  Your application must be submitted and approved no later than Monday, 6 December to receive your Bridging Payment on Friday 10th December 2021.  No payment process can be completed without having qualified through the criteria you will find in the above link.

  • Any applications still in progress and not approved by the above dates will NOT be paid on the respective dates.
  • Payment will be made as part of our ongoing process and when we receive all requested information from you. Please note this could be after Christmas.
