Heat the oil in a large saucepan on a medium heat and add the onions, carrots & mushrooms. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes until the vegetables have started to soften Add the garlic puree and sauté for a further minute.
Add the steak mince and cook until browned. Stir in the lentils, tomato puree, chopped tomatoes, bouillon, water and Italian seasoning.
Cook this on a low heat, stirring occasionally for about half an hour, or until the sauce has thickened and the vegetables have dissolved.
If necessary, add water during cooking to prevent the meat sauce drying out.
