Families across West Dunbartonshire are being given the chance to enjoy a series of fun days within the area’s parks this summer.

Starting on 5 July and running through until mid-August, the events are being staged throughout the local authority area. Each family fun day will take place from noon until 4pm and include lawn games, face painting, kids rides, an inflatable slide and pony petting.

The events at Levengrove Park are on July 5 and August 2. Dalmuir Park will host family fun days on July 12 and August 10. At Christie Park, they will be on July 20 and August 9 and Moss O Balloch will be the venue for the events on July 27 and August 16.

Convener of Infrastructure, Regeneration and Economic Development, Councillor David McBride, said: “I am pleased we are able to put on these events again as they were very popular with families last year. We know that the cost of keeping the kids entertained over the holidays and going on days out can be very restrictive for many families.

“It is great that these events are available so families can enjoy some free activities in the beautiful surroundings of our parks over the summer period.”

Vice Convener of Infrastructure, Regeneration and Economic Development, Councillor Lawrence O’Neill, added: “We had a great turn out last year with hundreds of parents and carers bringing children and young people along to the fun days. I would encourage families to head along to their nearest park this summer and I look forward to seeing people from all over West Dunbartonshire making the most of the free, fun activities.”
