West Dunbartonshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and of all other enabling powers, have made the above named Order by reason of facilitating road works by Hillhouse Quarry Group Ltd t/a MacAsphalt and their contractors on behalf of West Dunbartonshire Council in relation to the Connecting Clydebank project.

The Order will make it unlawful for any person to cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on the following sections of road (except for those taking local access where permitted by signs, those under the direction of a traffic management contractor, the emergency services and those engaged in authorised road occupation) between 0001hours Monday 1 November 2021 and 2359hours on Monday 31 January 2022: -

  • Hume Street, Clydebank, from its junction with A814 Glasgow Road to the western end of the junction of Belmont Street.

Further Details and Diversion Routes

Emergency Services should note that any access past the closure might be prevented or at least delayed, therefore would be imperative to use the diversion route below. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times however vehicular access will not be maintained apart from High sided vehicles over 4.3m. The contractors undertaking the works will control all vehicular access and notify restrictions in advance.

While the works programme is subject to change, due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, it is currently envisaged that the closure will be applied between Monday 1 November to Friday 24 December.

The diversion route is as follows - A814 Glasgow Road, Argyll Road, Chalmers Street and Hume Street (bollards will be removed for access).
