We are responsible for the management and upkeep of two allotment sites in West Dunbartonshire, both of which fall within the Dumbarton area. Only residents of West Dunbartonshire are eligible to apply for an allotment.
The cost for an allotment is £23.47 per year.
You will then be placed on a waiting list.
Because of the high demand for allotment plots, we have restricted the allocation of plots to one per household.
Allotment sites are serviced with water, fencing and access pathways.
Requests to keep livestock on the plot must be made in writing to Housing, Environmental and Economic Development, Greenspace, Elm Road Dumbarton G82 2RH or e-mail wdc.greenspace@west-dunbarton.gov.uk
Requests for shed/fence erection must be made in writing to Housing, Environmental and Economic Development, Greenspace, Elm Road Dumbarton G82 2RH or e-mail wdc.greenspace@west-dunbarton.gov.uk detailing measurements. Plot holders must observe planning legislation at all times and must maintain structures in good condition.
Yes, there are rules to be observed by allotment plot holders which are intended to clarify responsibilities, assist in delivering a safe, healthy and rewarding experience for all plot holders, and help us manage allotment sites for the benefit of all and the environment.
We also have a number of community allotment sites District wide where individuals can become involved. Details of these can be had by contacting Greenspace.
