West Dunbartonshire Council are pleased to offer for sale the former Levenford Lodge and Coach House in Dumbarton. This property may be suitable for a residential dwelling subject to necessary consents being obtained.

Location 

Levenford Lodge and Coach House, originally built in association with Levenford House, are located on Helenslee Road in Dumbarton at the entrance to the private access of Levenford House. This is in the Kirktonhill conservation area on the southern edge of the town, close to the point where the River Leven flows into the river Clyde, and around 500 metres west of the town centre. The locality is attractive and popular and is predominantly residential, with a variety of mainly older traditional house-types surrounding, together with some more recent development. Levenford House was previously the Local Authority library but is now in private ownership.

Property

Levenford Lodge and the Coach House have not been occupied for many years. The property has been subject to fire damage and has deteriorated considerably over the years and is now extremely dilapidated. It is currently surrounded by Heras fencing due to its dangerous condition. The stone external walls are in extremely poor condition. services. Windows are missing and the former timber-glazing to the canopy covering the walkway link is also smashed and missing. The whole of the property is also extremely overgrown with vegetation including with small trees growing in the stonework.
