Five-week closure of Glasgow Road from A82 for essential gas works

To facilitate essential gas main works by SGN as part of the redevelopment of the former Exxon site at Bowling, the A814 Glasgow Road will be closed between Greenhead Road and the A82 for five weeks from 15 September 2025.

Local access to homes and businesses located in this area will be maintained throughout the period of closure, which is scheduled to last until 17 October 2025.

To manage traffic flow, there will be three-way traffic lights in operation at the junction of Greenhead Road and the A82 during the closure. This will be monitored throughout the work to ensure it is working effectively.

A small section of Strowan’s Well Road will also be closure for the duration of the works.

Advance warning signage is being erected, and diversion routes will be well signposted.

Residents are asked to follow diversion routes and plan ahead as some journeys may take longer than normal.
