Review of Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils
Notice is hereby given, that West Dunbartonshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Section 53 (1) of the above-mentioned Act, proposes to review the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils.
A Special Meeting of the Council, held on 17 December 2025, agreed to a public consultation exercise inviting proposed amendments to the Scheme.
The initial consultation will be held over two periods. The first consultation period (8 weeks) shall address the Plan of Community Councils’ area, and the second period (up to 16 weeks) shall address the revised Scheme itself, together with associated documentation. A final 4-week period of consultation will be held prior to adoption of the amendments. .
A plan of the existing community council areas and a copy of the full timetable is available to be examined below:

Any person or organisation wishing to make written representations on the Plan should address them to Mr Alan Douglas, Chief Officer – Regulatory and Regeneration, Municipal Buildings, College Street, Dumbarton or by email: alan.douglas@west-dunbarton.gov.uk within 8 weeks of publication of this notice.
