The modern Circle Dancing Movement took off in North Scotland in the 1970s and 80s—and it’s still growing fast. Today you’ll find thriving groups across Scotland, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Milngavie, Peebles, Paisley, and beyond.

Modern circle dance is a vibrant mix of traditional dances and music from around the world—Eastern and South Eastern Europe, France, Israel, Native American traditions. We dance around a Centerpiece that is often created by one of the dancers.

Expect anything from high-energy, feel-good dances to calmer, more mindful moments—the mix reflects the group, planet, locality  and the teacher’s style. Whatever we dance, the goal is the same: share the joy, boost well-being, and feel part of something together. Steps are taught & you’ll surprise yourself as your feet join the beat. No partner needed as most choreographies don’t need one, if you can walk you can dance philosophy!

Wear comfortable clothes & shoes.
