St Kessog’s Church Hall , Balloch Road, Balloch, G83 8LQ

Circle dancing is an ancient tradition found in cultures around the world. It brings people together to celebrate and connect in a community.

The modern circle dancing movement began in North Scotland in the 1970s. Today, there are groups across Scotland, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Milngavie, Peebles and Paisley.

Our brand-new circle dancing group in Balloch is launching with free taster sessions. You can come along and try it for yourself.

What to expect

Modern circle dance is a mix of traditional dances and music from around the world. This includes music from:

  • Eastern and South Eastern Europe
  • France
  • Israel
  • Native American traditions

The dances range from high-energy and feel-good to calm and mindful. The goal is to share joy, boost wellbeing and feel part of a group.

How to join

Every dance is taught step-by-step. There is no audience and you do not need a partner. You can come on your own or bring a friend. You only need to be ready to move to the music.

Our free taster sessions are open to all adults aged 18 and over. If you can walk, you can dance. The sessions are friendly and relaxed, and we provide a cup of tea halfway through.
