Macmillan @Dalmuir Library: Macmillan Cancer Information Point

The Macmillan information point at Dalmuir Library provides access to a range of free Macmillan booklets on living with all aspects of cancer e.g. your cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, how to talk to someone with cancer etc. 

If you would like further information or if you would like to talk to someone, why not drop-in to your nearest Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Drop-in Service where our trained volunteers can offer you emotional support, help you access benefits advice and inform you of many more services available in your area.

Learning Centre Computer Suite

The computer suite contains 9 adult which can be booked out by community groups to use for classes. They offer the following:

  • Windows 7 on all computers
  • Microsoft Office: (Version 2010) on all machines
  • Free broadband Internet connection
  • Full-colour printing
  • A4 scanning facilities
  • CD burning facilities
  • Wheelchair access table

The computers are available to library members to use for free and are also utilised for the various free computer courses ran by Quest the libraries computer training team and other partner organisations. 

Meeting Room

This is a great space to use with small groups and allows for a greater degree of privacy than the other spaces as it is a self contained room.

The room can hold up to 6-8 people seated and can be used by a broad range of groups for training, demonstrations and small private meetings. The space includes:

  • Interactive Smart Board (no PCs)
  • Tea and coffee facilities.
  • Free WiFi connection (no printing facilities)

Reference Room

This smaller room can be used for smaller meetings or round the table training sessions seats approx  8-10 people. There are no computers or smart board available in this room.

Junior Space

The junior area of the library is a large welcoming environment with movable shelving units. The space is used for family activities such as Bookbug song and rhyme sessions, and Storytelling. The facilities include:
