Discount and Additional Information

Category A 100% Discount 

  • Playgroups/Play-schemes that are non-profit making for routine activities and where no additional janitorial cover is required.
  • West Dunbartonshire Sports Council and Soccer Council Meetings (in designated facilities). 
  • Parental Involvement /Parent Council and School Activities (in designated facilities provided they finish before 11.00pm, thereafter to be charged at the full rate). 
  • Parental Involvement/Parent Council sponsored extra curricular activities (e.g. concerts until 11.00pm in designated facilities, thereafter to be charged at the full rate
  • All Parental Involvement/Parent Council and school business meetings (in designated facilities)
  • Councillors Surgeries/Community Consultation non-political meetings.
  • Organisations applying for a single let which, in the opinion of the Council make significant contribution to the community of West Dunbartonshire.
  • Senior Citizens groups for routine weekly activities and established annual events. (Where the establishment is already open).
  • Youth and Voluntary organisations registered with the Community Learning & Development for routine activities (in Educational Services facilities where the establishment is already open).
  • Alcoholics Anonymous. 

Category B (75% Discount on maximum charge only) 

  •  Local Gala Committees.  (One let per week maximum 4 hours). 
  • Senior Citizens groups for routine weekly activities and established annual events. 
  • Special Needs groups for routine weekly activities and established annual events. 
  • All activities run by Statutory Education Authority Youth Clubs and the Sports/Arts 
    Development Officer (in designated facilities). 
  • Non-profit making Playgroups and Play schemes operating in schools for routine activities (where additional janitorial cover is required). 
  • Festival Committee (in designated facilities). 

Category C. (50% Discount on maximum charge only) 

  • Regular non-profit making lets where a minimum of 10 consecutive weekly bookings are made and used.
  • Charitable organisations on production of details of charitable status.
  • Residents/Tenants Associations for routine meetings. 
  • Community Councils’ Associations and decentralisation committees (including neighbourhood forums). 
  • Church Services (full cost except where part of School Area letting plan). 
  • Sunday Schools (full cost except where part of School Area letting plan). 
  • Fund raising activities for community groups and organisations (in designated facilities). 

Additional Information

  •  Full costs apply to all commercial trading and profit making lets.
  • A let requiring a liquor licence for the specific purpose of fund-raising for the school in question would be granted a free let on the first occasion but any subsequent let of the same nature would be granted at 25% discount on the full charge.
  • Certain facilities are not available at all times.
  • This policy normally applies to West Dunbartonshire based groups only.
  • The Council reserves the right to refuse any application for let or for an application for reduced cost let under this policy.
  • The Authority reserves the right to offer a room larger than that requested or several rooms totalling the capacity requested and to apply such lower rate as would have been due.
  • The costs in brackets show the minimum hourly rate chargeable after any concessionary discount.
  • Outwith normal opening hours and where an establishment is not already open a minimum additional charge of £10.00 per hour will apply.
  • Lets for a part hour will be charged at the hourly rate. 
  • Pitch charges are made per game not exceeding 2 hours.
  • VAT may be charged for certain categories of let
