VAWG awareness for licence holders: Keeping our communities safe

We’re proud to launch a new initiative to raise awareness about Domestic Abuse and Spiking within the taxi and private hire sector in West Dunbartonshire. Drivers are a vital part of our communities, and we want to empower them with the tools and steps to take if they are ever concerned about a passenger’s safety.
Together with Medics Against Violence and the L Division of Police Scotland, the West Dunbartonshire Violence Against Women and Girls Partnership has created two short animated videos to provide practical guidance and clear steps for drivers to follow if they ever suspect a passenger may be at risk of harm or abuse.
Violence Against Women and Girls remains a deeply rooted and widespread issue in West Dunbartonshire. It affects individuals, their families, and the whole community. We all have a role to play in preventing and ending this violence and abuse, and we can only do it together.
