Mitchell Way & Main Street

The Council has expanded its Mitchell Way regeneration project to include Main street, following the project’s initial consultation period. Local residents and members of the business community through Alexandria Business Improvement District (BID) agreed that the programme for improvements on Mitchell Way should be widened to incorporate works to upgrade Main Street in order to encourage more people to visit the town. Many of the comments gathered during the consultation which included online and face-to-face engagement, involved enhancement of the town centre as a whole and improving pavements and lighting to ensure the area is a safe and welcoming place to visit.

We are now working directly with the Alexandria BID to develop new concepts and designs that will target improving the look, feel and accessibility of Alexandria Town Centre. Page/Park architects, who lead on the consultation, will continue to work with us on the project and are currently progressing with new concept designs.
