The Regeneration Capital Grant Fund (RCGF) is a Scottish Government fund which supports locally developed regeneration projects. It combines the funding previously delivered through the Vacant and Derelict Investment Programme (VDLIP) and the Regeneration Capital Grant Fund (RCGF) into a single fund which supports the provision of new infrastructure, enhancements to existing infrastructure, as well as helping to tackle persistent vacant and derelict land to deliver large-scale transformational change with strong regeneration outcomes. Applications are open to all of Scotland's local authorities.
Assessment of project proposals is a two-stage process. At stage one, you must be able to demonstrate that your project:
You can apply for 100% of project costs, but projects that can demonstrate match funding will be looked on more favourably.
The Scottish Government have set a deadline for submission of Stage 1 applications by 5pm on Friday 27 June. Please note that funding is subject to Scottish Government budget approval.
The Council are inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from local groups, community organisations and individuals who are interested in applying to the fund for capital projects which can be delivered during 2026/27 and:
EOI should be made on this form – RCGF EOI
Further details on the fund which you should read before completing an EOI can be found in:
All EOI will be evaluated, and you will be informed of the outcome by w/c 16 June. It is expected that the top scoring projects (up to a max of 4), which best meet the RCGF criteria, would be worked up as a Stage 1 application. The timeline is short, so a quick turnaround is needed to enable applications to be completed and submitted by the Scottish Government deadline of 27 June 2025.
If you have a project, you believe is eligible for the fund and would like to discuss it prior to submitting an EOI, please contact Regeneration by emailing: regeneration@west-dunbarton.gov.uk
