West Dunbartonshire Council Pet Policy
This policy provides advice and guidance for tenants with pets. Conditions for keeping a pet are explained in the policy and align with what is already in tenancy agreements.
Any applications seeking permission to keep a pet will be responded to by the Housing Operations Team. Generally, we will always grant permission for one domestic pet, although tenants can request permission to keep more, and each request will be considered on a case by case basis taking into consideration the tenancy type and suitability of accommodation.
Having this Pet Policy in place will help to ensure we have a safe, clean, and harmonious living environment for all tenants and their pets.
We would ask all tenants to complete a permission form for pets they currently have in the household, and to use it for any new pets they may wish to get in the future. This is so we have up to date information on all pets kept within all households.
