Bookbug Sessions

What is Bookbug?

Bookbug sessions are fun, free 30 minute sessions for babies, toddlers and their parents & carers. They include songs, action rhymes and sharing stories with time afterwards to browse our library stock.

Makaton Bookbug sessions?

Our Makaton Bookbug sessions are specially tailored ASN sessions to include Makaton and symbols. *Places are very limited*.

Booking a session

From Thursday 1st May 2025 booking for a West Dunbartonshire library Bookbug session will be made via our online catalogue.

Session dates for 2025/26:

  • From Tuesday 22nd April 2025 until Saturday 28th June 2025 (libraries closed Monday 5th May 2025)
  • Summer specials (at least 2 per branch)  - dates TBC
  • From Monday 18th August 2025 until Saturday 20th December 2025 (libraries closed Monday 29th September 2025)
  • From Monday 5th January until Thursday 4th April 2026

Outdoor Bookbug Sessions*

Please note: 

  • Outdoor Sessions are drop-in – There's no need to book.
  • Bring something suitable to sit on and dress appropriately for the weather.
  • Sessions may be cancelled at short notice due to inclement weather.
