National Entitlement Cards
Information on applying for a new card or getting a replacement card.
Residents of West Dunbartonshire can apply for a national entitlement card under 3 categories:
- If you are aged 60 and over. View more information including reductions on alternative methods of transport.
- Residents with a disability. View the Eligibility Criteria.
- Young Person National Entitlement Card also known as Young Scot NEC for 11-25 year olds. For further information visit young.scot or call The Young Scot Info Line on: 0808 801 0338.
How to apply
If you are applying for a NEC card for the first time, requesting a replacement, updating your photograph or renewing an expired/expiring card you can now do this online at getyournec.scot.
You can also apply for your over 60’s card at most post offices. Please visit www.spt.co.uk/tickets/concessions/ for more information on other ways to apply and a list of acceptable proofs for identity, photographs and address.

How to apply for disabled concessionary travel
Replacement cards
If you are requesting a replacement over 60’s or Disabled card, updating your photograph or renewing an expired/expiring card you can do this online at getyournec.scot.

Free bus travel for under-22s
Young people aged 5 – 21 will be able to access the new free bus scheme in January 2022 using the National Entitlement Card (NEC) or Young Scot branded NEC. Please see Young Scot page.
