The Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP) sets out the funding priorities for affordable housing for the next five years. It indicates how the priorities in the Local Housing Strategy will be delivered.
The Council introduced a higher standard for the construction of all new social housing in West Dunbartonshire in 2015 requiring new social housing developments to achieve higher energy efficiency and design standards than is normally required. This standard applies to all properties that are built with support funding from the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Supply Programme . The Design Standard was updated in February 2019 and the new, improved version will apply to all projects being approved from April 2020 onwards.
