Excellent inspection for Carleith Primary School and Early Learning and Childcare Centre

Staff and children at Carleith Primary School and Early Learning and Childcare Centre are celebrating after receiving some of the highest grades possible following a recent inspection.
The school was awarded an excellent grading for learning, teaching and assessment and very good for raising attainment and achievement. The ELCC received four gradings of very good, for curriculum, learning, teaching and assessment and wellbeing, inclusion and equality during an inspection.
The head teacher and depute head teacher were praised by inspectors for their outstanding leadership, in particular for having a very strong, clear and well-considered vision for consistently delivering high-quality learning experiences for all children within their care. Their vision of delivering for every child is shared by staff, children and parents with their relentless focus on continuous improvement for improving outcomes for all children.
Inspectors also highlighted significant strengths in staff members who worked very well to ensure the children within the school and ELCC achieve their best and provide effective support to the service, staff, families and children. Children are provided with dynamic and exciting learning experiences of the highest quality, resulting in consistent, highly effective learning, teaching and assessment across the school and ELCC.
Staff were praised for the support they offer children to recognise their many achievements with a clear focus on providing children with a wide range of opportunities to be successful.
Inspectors met children who are polite, welcoming, and caring as well as engaged in their learning, enthusiastic, and motivated due to the exceptionally positive learning environment. They noted that children understand themselves very well as learners and fulfil the school vision of ‘learning and playing together to be our best’.

It is very encouraging to see the many highlights in this positive inspection report, which recognises the great work and dedication to the quality learning and care of the children is to be commended.
