West Dunbartonshire Council Annual Assurance Statement
All social landlords are responsible for delivering good outcomes and services for their tenants and service users. Landlords need to be self-aware, analytical, open and honest about their performance, and identify and drive improvement.
The Scottish Housing Regulator’s role is to monitor, assess, report and intervene (as appropriate) in relation to social landlords' performance of housing activities. How this role is carried out is outlined in the Regulatory Framework.
A key aspect of the Regulatory Framework is the requirement for all social landlords to prepare and publish an Annual Assurance Statement, to confirm to their tenants and the Regulator that they are meeting regulatory requirements and that they are compliant with the relevant regulatory standards, legal requirements and statutory guidance relevant to the sector.
A wide range of arrangements are in place to ensure that we meet our regulatory and statutory obligations and to provide members of the Housing and Communities Committee and our tenants with the assurance required. Any areas of non-compliance are highlighted in the Annual Assurance Statement, alongside actions being taken to address this.
Our most recent Annual Assurance Statement was approved by the Housing and Communities Committee in August 2025 and is available to view on the Scottish Housing Regulator website.
