West Dunbartonshire Councils latest Scottish Social Housing Charter Performance Report.

The production and publication of an Annual Charter Performance Report is a requirement of the Scottish Housing Regulator. All social landlords must provide tenants and other customers with an accessible summary of their performance each year.

Following approval of a revised Charter by the Scottish Parliament, the Scottish Housing Regulator reviewed and updated the performance measures used to assess how well social landlords are performing. These changes were introduced for the 2025/26 reporting year. They include new measures relating to tenant safety, such as compliance with smoke and heat alarm requirements, electrical safety checks, and performance in resolving damp and mould cases.

Following the introduction of these revised Charter Indicators, West Dunbartonshire's report was reviewed with the support of tenant volunteers. They helped decide which performance measures should be highlighted. They also selected the symbols and graphics used to show comparison information and agreed the most appropriate peer group for performance comparisons. Their feedback played a key role in shaping the new-look report.

The report provides a clear overview of our performance in the areas that tenants have told us are most important to them. It highlights areas where we are performing well and areas where further improvement is needed.

It is important that the information in the report is accessible and meaningful. We hope it encourages more detailed questions about our performance and inspires more tenants to get involved.
