A Stopping Up Order is a legal order under Sections 207 or 208 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997.

When there is a need to stop up a road, footpath or bridleway permanently to enable a development to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted under Part III of the aforementioned Act, we must promote a Stopping Up Order.

All newly promoted Stopping Up Orders will be advertised in the local press and a notice will also be displayed on-site at the affected location.

If you have any reason to make objections or representation to the said Order you can do so during the consultation period specified in the Notice.

Any objections or representations must be received within the period specified in the Notice.
