Find a recycling centre

No commercial waste is permitted at any household recycling site.

Our two recycling centres allow residents to dispose of mixed recyclables, garden waste, wood, cardboard, glass, plastics, textiles, scrap metal, soil, rubble, small electrical items and general household waste.

All sites are open daily:

• Winter: 1 October to 31 March, 8am to 5pm
• Summer: 1 April to 30 September, 8am to 7.30pm

Last entry is 15 minutes before closing time.

Vans, pick-ups and vehicles with a trailer

Any van, pick-up or vehicle with a trailer must obtain permission at least 24 hours before visiting. Vehicles that are not pre-booked will not be permitted access.

Only trailers up to a maximum weight of 500kg are allowed into our recycling centres.

No bookings are accepted for commercial or personal vans or trailers on Saturdays or Sundays.

We do not allow access for the following vehicle types: curtain-side vehicles, cage vehicles, box vans, flatbed vehicles, Luton vans, pick-up vans, vans with trailers, double-axle trailers, vehicles over 3.5t gross weight, vehicles with more than four wheels, trailers more than 1.8m long by 1.2m wide, tipper vehicles and any vehicle carrying commercial waste.

Book a van, pick-up or trailer

Book by completing the Recycling Centre booking form before 12pm Monday to Friday for access the next day.

If a request is received after 12pm, access will be granted the day after next. For example, if you submit a request at 1pm on Monday, you will have access on Wednesday.

Vans, pick-ups and vehicles with a trailer are permitted to visit the Household Waste Recycling Centres on four occasions within any rolling 12‑month period.

If site operatives believe the waste you are disposing of is commercial waste, you may not be permitted access.
