NHS Near Me is a video consulting service that enables people to attend appointments from home or wherever is convenient. The service is widely used across NHS Scotland, Social Security Scotland, Local Authorities and other organisations for appointments across a wide range of public services.

West Dunbartonshire residents will now have easier access to a range of vital public health services, thanks to the launch of a new Near Me hub in Clydebank Library.

The new offering means the library can be booked for NHS video appointments, utilising a private and accessible space in the facility for people to attend their appointments without travelling to hospital.

The process is made possible by using a secure NHS-backed video consulting platform used across health, social care and other public services in Scotland.

It means residents can get vital medical advice closer to home, helping to reduce travel and improve access to services. It will also support those who may not have the necessary technology at home, or a quiet space for private conversations.

Clydebank Library is now listed as a location for NHS patients offered a Near Me appointment on the NHS Near Me website

The project has been made possible thanks to funding from the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC), and West Dunbartonshire Libraries is now the 14th library service in Scotland to offer this facility.
