Care of Gardens

Following the Council Annual Budget setting meeting, all residents who qualify for the scheme will receive the service for an annual fee of £110.

The scheme is open to residents who meet either of the following criteria:

  1. Those in receipt of a disability benefit such as Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Pension Credits or a care service from HSCP including Community Care Alarm  regardless of

OR

  1. Those in receipt of a State Pension but do not meet the criteria in point 1

You will not be accepted for the scheme if there is a relative in the house or living nearby who could be expected to tend to the garden.

Holiday homes will not be considered.

The scheme is available to tenants and owner/occupiers.

Evidence of eligibility must be submitted with an application or it will not be considered for the service. If completing online and posting evidence please include the online form reference which is detailed on the information page or confirmation email following submission.

The scheme will also require to be renewed annually and if accepted to the scheme you will be asked to reapply each year before the service starts in April.

If accepted, the specification is as follows:

Your garden will be maintained between April and October.  The grass will be cut with edges being strimmed.  Hedges within the boundary of the garden will be cut once during this time.  Grass cuttings and Hedge trimmings will be removed and pathways swept clear.

If accepted to the scheme a fee of £110 per annum will be charged. You will receive an invoice for this payment directly from West Dunbartonshire Council with details on how to make payment.
