Clydebank High School
Emma Milmine
Clydebank High School is proud to celebrate the exceptional achievements of Emma Milmine as she leaves us to begin her next chapter. Emma has shown remarkable dedication to her studies, achieving seven A grades at National 5, five A grades at Higher, and now awaits her Advanced Higher results, having undertaken three subjects at this level in S6.
Emma’s academic excellence has earned her an unconditional offer to study Physics with Advanced Research at the University of Strathclyde—a prestigious and highly competitive programme which recognises her talent, resilience, and passion for learning.
Throughout her time at Clydebank High School, Emma has exemplified the core values that define our school community. She has demonstrated unwavering commitment to her learning, consistently displaying a strong work ethic and ambition. As a valued member of the school community and then representing the Pupil Leadership Team as a Captain, Emma always displayed integrity, empathy and a genuine desire to support others. She treats everyone with respect, and in turn has earned the trust of her peers and staff alike.
Emma leaves Clydebank High as a young person of exceptional character - resilient in the face of challenge and ready to contribute meaningfully to her field and her community. We are incredibly proud of all that Emma has accomplished and are confident that she will go on to achieve great things. She leaves Clydebank High School with our warmest congratulations and our very best wishes for the future.
Megan Hayward
Megan arrived at Clydebank High School in 2019 and as she progressed through her Broad General Education, she found herself enjoying the practical subjects on offer. When she had the opportunity to personalise her curriculum, she opted for courses which she felt were more ‘hands on’ including Computing Games Design, Photography and Practical Electronics.
In S6, Megan was given the opportunity to undertake one of her subjects at college. Thanks to the partnership between the school, West College Scotland and Babcock International Engineering, Megan attended two afternoons per week to undertake the SQA Skills for Work Engineering course with Babcock. Megan excelled on this course. Her Maths and Physics improved greatly as she was able to put the theory into practice. She often had the opportunity to network with employees and managers from Babcock as well as her lecturers who inspired her to consider Electrical Engineering as a career.
Having completed the part-time course with such commitment and dedication, Megan was invited to apply for the Full-Time Modern Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering with Babcock and was offered a place.
We are immensely proud of her success at Clydebank High School and look forward to hearing about the next steps of her learning journey when she starts with Babcock at Faslane Naval Base in August.
