Order

The West Dunbartonshire Council; in exercise of the powers conferred on them under Section 14 of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers make the
following Order:

  1. This Order may be cited as The West Dunbartonshire Council (Bank St, Alexandria —Footway Closure) (Temporary Traffic Management) Order 2025 and shall come into operation from Monday the Twelfth day of January Two Thousand and Twenty-six and will remain in operation until Wednesday the Sixth day of January Two Thousand and Twenty-seven, or until such time as the work are completed, whichever is earlier.
  2. In this Order the following expressions have the meanings hereby assigned to them: "footway" means that part of the road reserved primarily for pedestrians "emergency service personnel" means individuals engaged in duties for the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services. "traffic management contractor" means a person or organisation authorised to implement and manage temporary traffic arrangements under this Order.
  3. No person shall use or permit to use the footway described in the "Schedule" of this Order except:
    1. Where permitted by authorised signage or under the direction of a traffic management contractor.  By emergency service personnel in the course of duty.  By pedestrians requiring local access to adjacent premises, where safe passage is maintained.
  4. Nothing in Article 3 of this Order shall prevent any person from accessing the footway where:
    1. access is required due to circumstances beyond their control or to avoid danger.
    2. access is necessary for the exercise of statutory powers and duties, including but not limited to police, fire and ambulance service operations.
    3. access is required by a Universal Service Provider for the collection or delivery of postal packets as defined in section 125 of The Postal Services Act 2000.
    4. access is required in connection with funeral operations.
