Footway Closure

Order

The West Dunbartonshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them under Section 14 of 
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers make the
following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as The West Dunbartonshire Council (Lomondgate Drive, Dumbarton) (Footway Closure) (Temporary Traffic Management) Order 2026 and shall come into operation from Monday the Second day of March Two Thousand and Twenty-six and will remain in operation until Sunday the Twenty Second of March Two Thousand and Twenty-six.
2. In this Order the following expressions have the meanings hereby assigned to them: "footway" has the meaning assigned by Section 151 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984.
3. No person shall use or permit use of the footway (with the exception of pedestrians taking local access where permitted by authorised road traffic signs or traffic management contractor, emergency service personnel and persons engaged in the authorised road occupation) on the lengths of footway specified in the Schedule to this Order.
4. Nothing in Article 3 of this Order shall prevent any person from using the footway in the length(s) referred to in that article:
   1.  if prevented from proceeding by circumstances beyond their control or where such use is necessary to avoid an accident;
   2.  to enable the footway, if it cannot conveniently be used for such purpose in any other location, to be used in pursuance of statutory powers and duties and in particular, but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, to enable the footway to be used in connection with police, fire and ambulance service purposes;
   3. to enable access to premises where safe access is maintained by the works supervisor.
