Senior Pupil Secures Prestigious Global Law Scholarship

Rebecca is leaving Clydebank High School after securing a highly competitive law scholarship with international firm CMS.

Rebecca, who served as Head Girl in her final year, achieved five Highers in English, Spanish, Physics, Modern Studies and Mathematics. In S6, alongside her scholarship application, she completed National 5 Applications of Maths, Higher Administration and Advanced Higher English. She also achieved a Leadership Award through leading Spanish lessons at local primary schools.

Rebecca secured her scholarship after taking part in a rigorous national selection process that attracted applicants from across Scotland. As part of her application, she produced a thoughtful essay exploring real-world legal issues, highlighting her strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Rebecca excelled in collaborative negotiation exercises, analysing complex case materials and debating business contract terms. She then undertook a challenging interview with practising lawyers, demonstrating both her passion for law and the qualities required for success in the profession. She was ultimately selected as one of only two successful candidates.

The CMS Law Scholarship will provide £3,000 per year, dedicated mentoring support, and paid work experience, with the opportunity to fast-track into a graduate role.

Rebecca now plans to study Law at a leading Scottish university, taking the next step towards a promising legal career.

Senior Pupil Pursues Passion for Performing Arts

Emily leaves Clydebank High School after securing a place to study Acting and Performing at New College Lanarkshire to follow her ambition of a career in the performing arts.

Emily worked hard in her senior phase achieving Highers in Physical Education, Drama, English and Health and Social Care.

In her final year, Emily continued to challenge herself academically, studying Advanced Higher English alongside National 5 Applications of Maths. She also broadened her experience by completing a Foundation Apprenticeship in Social Services, Children & Young People through a school partnership with ‘Working4U’, combining theoretical learning with work-based experiences.

Emily leaves school as an aspiring actress, having demonstrated dedication to her passion for performance throughout her time in school while her wide-ranging qualifications have equipped her with valuable skills and opened up alternative pathways, including potential future work with children and young people.

As she moves on to college, Emily does so with a strong foundation of skills and experiences, and an exciting future ahead as she begins to pursue her ambitions in the performing arts.
